These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of https://www.tradesgap.co.uk and to any enquiry, application, booking or purchase made with TradesGap Ltd.

Please read these terms carefully before applying for or booking a TradesGap programme.

1. Who we are

TradesGap Ltd is a UK company providing practical experience programmes designed to help people build confidence, gain real-world exposure and better understand what employers may look for in the gas and heating industry.

Business name: TradesGap Ltd

2. About the TradesGap programme

TradesGap offers a five-day practical experience programme for people who want real-world exposure to gas and heating work.

The programme may include:

  • Guided practical experience over five days
  • Exposure to live jobs, real customers and real working environments
  • Gas servicing, boiler repairs, diagnostics, fault finding and related job flow where appropriate
  • Customer communication, quoting and professional standards
  • Direct guidance and feedback from experienced working engineers
  • Use of relevant tools where required
  • Accommodation for up to four nights
  • Breakfast and evening meal during the stay

The programme is designed to help participants build confidence, practical awareness and job-readiness. It is not a qualification, apprenticeship, employment contract, guaranteed work placement or guaranteed route to employment.

3. Important gas safety and supervision terms

Gas work is regulated in the UK. Participants must not carry out independent gas work.

Any practical activity involving gas appliances, installations, heating systems or related work will only take place under the direction, control and supervision of a suitably qualified engineer.

TradesGap may limit, change, pause or stop any activity where necessary for safety, legal compliance, customer requirements, insurance requirements or professional judgement.

Participants must follow all instructions given by TradesGap, Direct Boilers & Heating Ltd, supervising engineers, property owners, customers or site representatives.

Failure to follow safety instructions may result in removal from the programme without refund.

4. Relationship with Direct Boilers & Heating Ltd

Practical exposure may be delivered with or through Direct Boilers & Heating Ltd and/or suitably qualified working engineers connected with that business.

TradesGap Ltd and Direct Boilers & Heating Ltd are separate business entities unless otherwise stated.

Any references to real jobs, customer sites, live work or practical exposure are subject to availability, safety requirements, customer consent, site conditions and professional judgement.

5. Eligibility

To attend a TradesGap programme, you must:

  • Be aged 18 or over
  • Be legally able to attend and participate in the UK
  • Be physically and mentally able to take part safely
  • Act professionally and respectfully at all times

  • Provide accurate information when applying or booking

No prior gas qualification is required unless stated on the relevant programme page. However, TradesGap may refuse or cancel a booking if we believe the programme is not suitable for you, or if participation may create safety, legal or practical concerns.

6. Applications and suitability

Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance onto the programme.

We may review your application before confirming your place. We may ask follow-up questions to assess suitability, availability and expectations.

We reserve the right to decline an application or cancel a booking if we reasonably believe:

  • The programme is not suitable for you
  • You have provided inaccurate or misleading information
  • You are expecting guaranteed employment or independent gas work
  • You may not be able to participate safely
  • Your behaviour before attendance raises concerns

If we decline your application after payment has been taken, we will refund you unless the cancellation is due to false information, misconduct, abuse or another serious breach of these terms.

7. Price and payment

The current price for the five-day programme is £1,250, unless stated otherwise on the relevant booking page.

Payment is required in full at the time of booking.

Credit and debit cards may be accepted through our payment provider.

11. Meals

Breakfast and evening meal are included during the accommodation stay, unless agreed otherwise.

You must tell us in advance about allergies or important dietary requirements. We will take reasonable steps to accommodate dietary requirements, but we cannot guarantee that all preferences or requirements can be met.

We may ask to take photos or videos during the programme for training, feedback, record-keeping or marketing.

We will not use identifiable photos, videos or testimonials for public marketing without your permission.

You must not photograph or record customers, customer homes, private property, documents, addresses, gas appliances or other sensitive information without clear permission from TradesGap and any relevant customer or property owner.

15. Employment, qualifications and outcomes

TradesGap is designed to help you gain practical exposure, confidence and a clearer understanding of real-world expectations.

We do not guarantee:

  • Employment
  • A job offer
  • An interview
  • A work placement
  • A specific income
  • A qualification
  • Gas Safe registration
  • Permission to carry out independent gas work
  • Any particular career result

Your results depend on many factors outside our control, including your attitude, ability, effort, applications, interview performance, location, employer requirements, legal requirements and wider market conditions.

16. Cancellations by you

You may cancel your booking by emailing robbie@robbieadamson.com.

Because programme places are limited and may involve accommodation, scheduling, live job planning and practical arrangements, cancellation charges may apply.

Unless we agree otherwise in writing, our standard cancellation terms are:

  • Cancellation more than 30 days before the programme start date: full refund minus reasonable payment processing costs already incurred
  • Cancellation 15–30 days before the programme start date: 50% refund
  • Cancellation 14 days or fewer before the programme start date: no refund
  • Failure to attend: no refund

Where possible, we may offer to move you to a later date instead of cancelling. Date changes are at our discretion and depend on availability.

Cancellation charges must be fair and reasonable under UK consumer law. A charge should reflect actual losses and costs, not act as a penalty. The CMA states that a cancellation charge is not fair just because it appears in a contract; it needs to be reasonable.

17. Consumer cancellation rights

If you book online, by phone or by email as a consumer, you may have a 14-day cancellation period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.

However, cancellation rights can be affected where services are booked for a specific date, where accommodation or leisure-type services are provided for a specific period, or where you ask us to begin making arrangements before the cancellation period ends. UK Government guidance notes that cancellation rights may not apply in the same way where a ticket or service is for a specific date.

We will explain any relevant cancellation position at the time of booking where required.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

18. Cancellations or changes by TradesGap

We may cancel, postpone, reschedule or change a programme where necessary due to:

  • Illness or unavailability of key personnel
  • Safety concerns
  • Vehicle, site, customer or job availability issues
  • Accommodation issues
  • Severe weather
  • Legal, regulatory or insurance issues
  • Insufficient suitability or availability
  • Events outside our reasonable control

If we cancel a confirmed programme and cannot provide a suitable alternative date, we will refund the programme fee you paid.

We are not responsible for additional costs you incur, such as travel, lost earnings or other arrangements, unless required by law.

19. Health, safety and participant responsibility

You must tell us before attending if you have any health condition, allergy, disability, medication, injury or other issue that may affect your ability to participate safely, stay in accommodation or eat provided meals.

We will make reasonable adjustments where appropriate and practical, but we may refuse or cancel participation if we reasonably believe it would be unsafe or unsuitable.

You are responsible for acting sensibly, following instructions and raising concerns immediately if you feel unsafe or unsure.

20. Insurance and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Government guidance confirms that consumer terms cannot avoid responsibility for death, injury or other matters that cannot legally be excluded.

Subject to that, TradesGap is not liable for:

  • Loss caused by your failure to follow instructions
  • Loss caused by your own negligence or misconduct
  • Loss of personal belongings unless caused by our negligence
  • Loss of income, job opportunity or career outcome
  • Indirect or consequential loss
  • Travel, accommodation or other third-party costs unless required by law

21. Website information

We aim to keep website information accurate and up to date, but we may update prices, programme details, availability, content, dates or wording at any time.

Website content is provided for general information only and should not be treated as legal, employment, financial, technical or safety advice.

22. Third-party links and services

Our website may link to third-party websites, payment processors, form providers or other services.

We are not responsible for the content, policies or performance of third-party websites or services.

23. Personal data

We process personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.

Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use and protect your data.

24. Complaints

If you have a complaint, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it.

Email: robbie@robbieadamson.com
Telephone: 07984 338771

Please include your name, booking details and a clear description of the issue.

25. Force majeure

We will not be responsible for delay or failure to perform our obligations where caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, illness, accident, fire, flood, transport disruption, customer cancellation, legal restrictions, regulatory changes, utility failure or other events beyond our control.

26. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The version that applies to your booking will usually be the version in force at the time your booking is confirmed, unless a change is required by law or is necessary for safety, compliance or practical delivery.

27. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales, unless consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
